Statement of Principles

The purpose of the Center for European Policy Analysis is to produce timely, original research and analysis on the European Union, its governing institutions, economy, and member states. In pursuit of this objective, CEPA personnel are committed to operating under the highest standards of political impartiality, academic integrity, and intellectual honesty.

  • Political impartiality: CEPA is not aligned with any political party in the United States or abroad. The Center takes no institutional positions on pending legislation, nor does it attempt to directly influence any governmental body.
  • Academic integrity: In its published work, CEPA is committed to producing original scholarship that is free of plagiarism, data falsification, or any other form of intellectual theft. CEPA scholars only take credit for ideas that are their own; all other material is properly sourced and cited.
  • Intellectual honesty: CEPA’s research methodology is simple and straightforward: ask questions, accumulate data, and allow the facts to speak for themselves. CEPA scholars are free thinkers whose work is guided by principle and consistency rather than ideology or a priori assumptions.
