What is the connection between economic recovery and investment in the European Green Deal?

EU countries are slowly opening up in the wake of the pandemic and the European Union is currently debating strategic recovery plans. The European Commission has proposed a 750 billion euro relief package that includes grants and loans for all 27 EU member states. This joint roadmap emphasizes the green and digital transition of Europe in its guidelines, reiterating President Ursula von der Leyen’s commitment to make the European economy more sustainable.

A conversation with Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius on the connection between economic recovery and investment in the European Green Deal, the role of digitalization, and the internal and external challenges that the EU might come across while working on implementing sustainable development goals.
