NEW WARSAW
DIRECTOR

Ray Wojcik to lead the Center’s Warsaw Office

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 23, 2018 - The Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) announces that COL (Ret.) Ray Wojcik has joined the organization as the new Director of its Warsaw office. As Director, Wojcik will expand CEPA’s outreach with policymakers and experts across the Central and East European (CEE) region. He assumes the post immediately.

“Ray truly represents the spirit of our Atlanticist mission at CEPA,” said President Peter B. Doran. “He brings to the team a wealth of insight and expertise in defense affairs, having worked at the nexus of American diplomacy and security over the course of his career. I could not be happier that he’s joining CEPA.”

At CEPA, Wojcik will play a critical role in growing the Center’s policy impact on questions of statecraft, strategy, and transatlantic security. This includes working to advance CEPA analysis on the effectiveness and staying power of U.S. military deployments in the region, NATO alliance structures, and CEE relations with Washington.

“Ray brings the right background and expertise to this position, exactly when CEPA needs it,” said CEPA Pershing Chair LTG (Ret.) Ben Hodges. “I am excited to have Ray on board as he expands CEPA’s profile across the CEE region.”

Wojcik comes to CEPA with over 30 years of military service in the U.S. Army, with almost two decades on European assignments or working on European issues from the Pentagon. Foremost among his tours of duty were eight years in three separate postings to Poland. During his most recent assignment to Warsaw, he was at the center of planning and implementing the U.S. European Deterrence Initiative (EDI) and NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) efforts, which saw historic deployments of thousands of U.S. soldiers to Poland and the region.

CEPA is a 501(c)3 research institute with offices in Washington and Warsaw. Since its creation in 2005, the Center has provided a forum for scholarly research, writing, and debate on key issues affecting the CEE countries, their membership in NATO and the European Union, and their relationship with the United States. CEPA has grown to become the premier source of expert analysis and policymaker attention on U.S.-Central European relations.
