The Kremlin’s Chechen strongman gets infected, adding to the list of top Russian officials afflicted with covid-19. Vladimir Putin postpones both the draft and upcoming military exercises. And amid increased scrutiny that Russia is cooking its numbers of coronavirus infections and deaths, a new report by Novaya Gazeta alleges a widespread campaign in Russia’s regions to suppress information about the virus.
